Summer events at the library

HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Public Library, located at 1406 Main St., has several events coming up. The first is for kids and families, the second two are for teens and adults. You can check the calendar at www.waynelibraries.org for all the summer events at the libraries throughout the county.

On Friday, July 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. is Truck Petting Zoo. Lots of trucks from cement mixers to fire trucks will be parked on 14th Street next to the library. Kids of all ages are invited to sit in the driver’s seat, talk to the driver, and explore all of the different kinds of trucks and what they do. The event is free, refreshments will be available for sale; no need to register.

On Wednesday, August 6 at 5 p.m. meet Joseph Caldwell, author of the Pig Trilogy (“The Pig Did It,” “The Pig Comes to Dinner,” “The Pig Goes to Hog Heaven”). He doesn’t own a computer, he doesn’t have email, but he does have a YouTube video if you want a taste of what he’ll bring to his audience that night. Registration is requested by calling 570/253-1220 or sending an email to ewilson@waynelibraries.org.

On Wednesday, August 20 at 5:30 p.m. is “Time Travel in Popular Culture.” Join Commonwealth Speaker Paul Halpern with a look at time travel. This program will be held at the Central United Methodist Church, located at 205 11th St., Honesdale. To register call 570/253-1220 or email ewilson@waynelibraries.org.
