LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — New Hope Community, Inc. has announced that its board of directors has chosen James Forbes, Jr. as the agency’s next executive director. Its current executive director, Arthur J. Moretti, is leaving to pursue other professional opportunities, and his final day will be August 11.

Forbes brings more than 30 years of experience in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Forbes is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) board fellow. He is also a former founding chairman of the board of the Biomedical Engineering Alliance and Consortium Foundation (Hartford, CT).

Early in his career, Forbes had senior executive roles with Price Waterhouse, Dun & Bradstreet, and Mercedes-Benz. Forbes has served as executive vice chairman of AmeriCares, a company that provides emergency relief, humanitarian aid, and sustainable programs to people in need worldwide. He has most recently served as the secretary/treasurer of the national board of directors for AARP.

In accepting his new role, Forbes said, “New Hope Community is engaged in such a special mission, and I am privileged to join its extraordinary team in the delivery of its vital programs.”
