LIBERTY, NY — An educational program series for people interested in extending the summer growing season by using a greenhouse or high tunnel will start on July 10, offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) at the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center, 64 Ferndale Loomis Rd.

In 2014, CCESC partnered with Sullivan BOCES with support from Sullivan Renaissance to build a greenhouse and high tunnel on site with the goal of actively engaging the community in agriculture through education.

Intro to Greenhouses and High Tunnels will be held on Thursday, July 10 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Register by July 3. Learn on-site selection, building greenhouses, hard costs, and how to decide what to grow. Cornell horticulture professor Chris Wien will be the presenter.

The next classes will be on August 26, September 18 and November 13. The cost for each class is $20. Pre-registration with non-refundable payment is required in advance. Registration and more information can be obtained by calling CCESC at 845/292-6180 or by emailing mml249@cornell.edu.
