PIKE COUNTY, PA — There’s a time-honored tradition among country people that when a neighbor needs help, the community rallies around. This week in Pike County, a community effort has been launched to help the family of Tom Biasi, who died in a car accident on Wednesday, May 28, when an oncoming vehicle swerved into his lane hitting him head-on. Tom had diabetes and so was denied life insurance. His wife, Melissa, and three daughters Savannah (11), Morganne (6), and Tabitha (8), need help to cover funeral costs, burial costs and to establish a fund for the girls.
On Saturday, June 28 from 4 to 8 p.m., there will be the Biasi Family Benefit—a barbeque, games, live entertainment and silent auction—at Dingmans Ferry United Methodist Church, 115 Myck Rd. Food donations for the benefit would be greatly appreciated. Local businesses are invited to donate items for the silent auction.
To make an online donation, visit www.gofundme.com/9mda6s. For more information, call 973/903-2832 or see the Biasi Family Benefit Facebook page at www.facebook.com/events/1491765864371701/.
