MIDDLETOWN, NY – Orange Regional Medical Center has partnered with the DAISY Foundation to recognize its nurses for the excellent care they provide to patients. Erin Kirwin, Critical Care Registered Nurse, was chosen as the first honoree. Kirwan was honored for her care, compassion and professionalism while educating a patient and her family on the Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) process and advocating for and providing guidance to the patient and her family during the last days of life.
“Erin is a great example of an extraordinary nurse and we are proud to be among the hospitals participating in the DAISY Award program. Nurses are heroes every day. It’s important that our nurses know their work is highly valued, and The DAISY Foundation provides a special way for us to do that,” said Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer Joanne Ritter-Teitel, PhD, RN, CEA-BC.
