On Friday night May 30, there was a potluck at our beautiful Cochecton Center Community Center “church” building. It was nice to see the neighbors out; even Danny Yewchuck was out and about. The community church is in need of a new roof, and a few fund-raising events have begun. One way the community could help is to purchase a “square of shingles” for $100 in memory of loved one(s) and a memorial plaque will be hung in the building. However, any donation is greatly appreciated. When I was at the meeting, all I could think about was Doug Heinle, so I got a square in his memory. What a great way to keep someone’s memory alive. If you would like to make a donation, checks should be made to Cochecton Center Community Center, and sent to, George Walter, 300 Tyler Rd., Narrowsburg, NY 12764.

We invite you to our next community meeting on June 17 at 7 p.m. in the hall. A tag sale is scheduled for July 26 and 27. You could start your spring cleaning, and help the community center by donating tag sale items. If you have any ideas for future events, or if you wish more information, call Sharon Umnik Reitmeyer at 845/252-7463. Thank you for your continued support!

On Tuesday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m., the Women’s Community Club of Cochecton will hold its annual dinner at Angelina’s on the Hill in Lake Huntington. The cost for this special buffet is $20. All members, past and present, are welcome with their guest(s). The Red Hatters of Narrowsburg/Lake Huntington are planning a day trip to Villa Roma on Monday, June 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a Patsy Cline show. The cost is $31.12. When making reservations, include your entree choice of chicken, spare ribs, or tilapia. To make reservations for either event, call Judy at 845/932-8210.

On Friday, June 13 from 3 to 6 p.m., the band Oh Sweet Catastrophe will be playing at Angelina’s on the Hill. This is a group of kids from Sullivan West High School, so come out to show your support and have some good music and pizza. For more information, call Mike at 845/932-5042.

Tony’s on the Lake is open and serving dinner Wednesdays through Saturdays from 4 to 10 p.m.

Dottie Schlegel would like to let everyone know that her granddaughter Kaitlyn Jesmonth has been accepted at Clarkston University in Brockport, NY. Congratulations, Kaitlyn!

Have a great week, and e-mail leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568, if you have news.
