PORT JERVIS, NY — May was Mental Health Month and in recognition of the importance of informing the public on how to protect behavioral health and promote general well being Bon Secours Community Hospital hosted an all day Behavioral Health Family Fun Fair.
The local community was treated to free refreshments, musical entertainment, children’s events and demonstrations along with dietary and therapy information and handouts.
Visitors were also given green and silver ribbons to wear with a note explaining that green signifies new life, new growth and new beginnings and silver was to remind people of the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness.
