Big clean-up day for Lackawaxen residents

LACKAWAXEN TOWNSHIP, PA — Lackawaxen Township will hold its annual spring clean-up day for residents and property owners only on Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, at the township’s municipal building, 169 Urban Rd., Hawley. Participants must show proof of residence, such as a driver’s license or property tax bill. No items will be accepted before or after clean-up day.

Items that will be accepted include metal goods and parts (all materials must be free of lubricants and other fluids), appliances and furniture. No tires, demolition, construction or commercial waste, vehicles, non-metal household goods, or hazardous materials will be accepted.

Auto trunk load, $10; pickup and small trailer/van load, $15; larger trucks and trailers will be charged according to volume; appliances and hot water heaters, $15 each; Freon surcharge, $15 per unit; sofas, $15 each; chairs, $10 each; mattress and box spring, $ 20 per set.
