BERLIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Wayne Conservation District will hold the first program in a series of workshops focusing on wildlife habitat enhancement on Saturday, May 31 at the Wayne County Farm from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A free lunch will be provided. Wildlife food plots can provide opportunities to view wildlife or develop a healthier wildlife population if done properly. The first workshop will focus on the proper operation of the no-till rental equipment provided by the Wayne Conservation District. This workshop is free.

A wide variety of seeds will be planted using both the new four-foot no-till Kasko and the larger seven-foot no-till Haybuster to demonstrate the versatility of the available machines. Additional vendors and experts will be on hand for questions and more information during the plantings. A follow-up workshop is planned for later this year to discuss the success of the spring plantings and address the importance of cover for wildlife.

This program will take place at the Wayne County Farm on Bethel School Road at the intersection of Buckingham Road. For more information, contact Heidi Ferber or Sarah Hall of the Wayne Conservation District at 570/253-0930.
