It was a busy, busy, busy weekend that started Friday night at the Callicoon Brewery with a surprise birthday party for my co-worker Jonathan Fox. My mother’s mother’s maiden name was Fox (wonder if we’re related). Yes, my husband and I drove from Cochecton Center to Callicoon in a monsoon; at one point we went through a puddle, and it was like driving through a wave. Thank God the rain stopped for the car ride home.

On Saturday, I worked the Two Franks Café, which had a great turn-out, and I had fun chatting with all the people. Then at 4:30, I went to church at St. Francis Xavier in Narrowsburg, which is the parish church of Our Lady of the Lake in Lake Huntington. I was selling pancake breakfast tickets. Remember that is this Sunday, May 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tusten Town hall.

Then on Sunday we drove to Seaford, Long Island for a triple first communion—two great-nephews Matthew and Johnny and a great-niece Emily. I am so happy their parents decided to do one party and we did not have to drive down there three times. Matthew had a broken ankle, but that did not stop him from running all over the place.

Supervisor Gary Mass has to be tired; he worked all weekend at Cochecton Clean-up Day. I was there with my brother on Saturday morning with a truck load of junk. Anna Story was checking everyone in. When I talked to Gary on Saturday night, he said they filled five dumpsters, and then when I talked to him again on Sunday night, he said they filled another three dumpsters on Sunday. On Sunday they had more help from Larry Richardson, Ed Grund and Scott Nearing. Supervisor Maas said this clean up was very successful, “Cochecton is cleaning up and looking great!”

I did not make it to the health fair at the Catskill Regional Grover Hermann Division Hospital, but I will get a report from Dottie and get back to you on that.

Emily Buddenhagen told me that the Lake Huntington Red Hatters lunch was very nice. About 12 ladies showed up for the day out.

On Saturday, July 12, Lake Huntington Fire Company holds its annual Field Day. Vendors are wanted. Call Jeff Nober at 845/932-8586.

I would like to wish George and Linda Blaso a very happy 45th wedding anniversary. That’s a long time. God bless and many more years of love and happiness.

Have a great week and e-mail me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news.
