DINGMANS FERRY, PA — From April 3 to 6, the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will offer a new workshop, “Nuno Felting & Knitting.” The name is derived from the Japanese word “nuno” meaning cloth. The technique bonds loose fiber, usually wool, into a sheer fabric such as silk gauze, creating a lightweight felt. Participants will join workshop leader Patti Shreiner and guest instructor Bette Rycroff in creating a felted scarf or an embellished headband. Beginners are welcome and participants are welcome to bring their own projects to work on as well.
“Nuno Felting & Knitting” will begin Thursday, April 3 and continue through Sunday, April 6. This program includes three nights lodging and nine meals for $255. A shortened session is available from Friday, April 4 to Sunday, April 6, for a cost of $205. Commuter and day rates are also available. To register, call PEEC at 570/828-2319.
