LIBERTY, NY — The public and anyone participating in the Department of Environmental Conservation’s (DEC) Day-Old Pheasant Raise & Release programs will have the opportunity to learn about rearing pheasants and releasing them into the wild at a “Raising Pheasants 101” class on Tuesday, March 11 from 6 to 8 p.m.
This free educational event, offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Sullivan County’s 4-H Youth Development program, will be held at the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center. Pre-registration is required in advance by calling 845/292-6180 or emailing Michelle Lipari at mml249@cornell.edu.
The program is funded through the state Conservation Fund from license fees paid by hunters, trappers, and anglers. More information is available on the DEC website at www.dec.ny.gov/animals/7271.html.
