What a week! I need to thank the two guys in a blue pickup who stopped to help my husband, Tommy. Last Wednesday during the freaky snow storm, he slid off the road and into a snow bank by the playground near Heinle’s General Store. He said the car was covered in snow and he could not see out the window. The two guys (I wish I knew who they were) could not get him out. Thank God, Lurch Campfield pulled up and pulled him right out. That night after working at the tax collector’s office, we went to Angelina’s for dinner, and after eating dinner when Tommy got up, there was a puddle of melted snow under him. You guessed it; he went flying and hit his head on the chair he had been sitting on. I really need to thank Mike, Andrea, Rich Krauss and Mike Mullally from the Jeffersonville tractor store for helping me get Tommy up and in the car. Tommy has a nice big lump and black and blue on his neck, but he is OK.

The Cochecton Youth Group is thrilled to have Padriac McCarthy as our new board member; it will be so nice to have Padriac’s new and fresh ideas for the upcoming year.

Last week as I was sitting in my office collecting taxes, I could hear the Town of Cochecton assessor Lorry King talking about all of her little puppies that she’s raising at home, and how her husband has had it with nine dogs. Well, of course, I wanted to help Lorry out, so if you’re interested, they are Yorkshire terrier puppies, born 11/11/13, registered with papers. Males and females are available. They have been vet-checked; their tails have been docked and dew claws removed; they’ve had their first vaccinations and are wormed. They’re ready to go to loving homes. Lorry’s asking $700 each.
