MONTICELLO, NY — The Sullivan County Agriculture Protection Board, the Agricultural Advisory Board along with the county’s Division of Planning and Environmental Management, is working to update the county’s Agriculture and Farmland Protection Plan. The original plan was completed in 1999. This update will evaluate the current status of farming in the county, and identify projects and actions that can be undertaken in the future to promote and enhance agriculture. As a first step, the county is seeking farmer and public input.

The public survey is now available online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/SC-AgPublicSurvey. This online survey will be open until February 28. An agriculture producer’s survey, with questions targeted specifically for farmers, will be announced later this month.
