LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — On Thanksgiving Day, Scott Goodman and Stacey Millman of Butchie’s Organic Farm and Danielle Gaebel and Jennifer Bitetto of The Natural Contents’ Kitchen co-hosted a farm-to-table community Thanksgiving dinner at the Lake Huntington Fire House.

Eighty meals were served to folks within the Sullivan County community along with a food drive held to help local food pantries. The event raised over $1,400, which went directly to Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless.

Area farms and food producers that contributed to the event in addition to Butchie’s Organic Farm included Willow Wisp Organic Farm, River Brook Farm, Lucky Dog Farm, Maynard Farms, Tonjes Farm, Hilly Acres Farm, Brandenburg Bakery, Java Love Coffee Roasting Co., Beach Lake Bakery and Aunt Nenee’s. Rolling V of South Fallsburg donated transportation; Rent-E-Vent in Honesdale, PA supplied all the dishware; and the Lake Huntington Fire Department opened their space for use. Media sponsors included MK Media, Thunder 102 and Green Door Magazine.

“It was truly a heartwarming experience to see such a wonderful mix of folks enjoying a meal together,” Gaebel said. “We hope to make this a new tradition and expand our reach in the future,” said Goodman.
