Mittens for Kittens adoption event

MILFORD, PA — On Sunday, December 17, the Milford Craft Show store will host a Mittens for Kittens adoption event. For each pair of mittens sold, $10 will be donated to Jill’s Ferals. Adoptable kittens will also be available from 12 noon to 3 p.m., depending on weather. The Milford Craft Show store is located at 120 E. Harford St.

This November, Mittens for Kittens project founder Amy Eisenberg finished sewing the 1,000th pair of mittens, currently sold in six locations in New York, New Jersey and the project’s home in Milford. Each pair of mittens is unique: handcrafted from shrunken wool sweaters, lined in fleece and finished with vintage buttons. A portion of each purchase supports feral cat trap neuter and release (TNR) projects across the tri-state area, including Port Jervis-based Jill’s Ferals, its original benefactor. Since starting her TNR work, Jill Wojtaszek has trapped and neutered hundreds of feral cats and domesticated dozens of others to become adoptable companion cats. For more information about supporting Jill’s Ferals and upcoming adoption events, visit the organization’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/Jills-Ferals.
