I just got off the plane after a great couple of days in Florida at a cousin’s wedding. I really enjoyed hanging out at the pool but not getting all the freckles. The flight home was amazing. What a sight, flying over the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge with all the beautiful fall colors on the trees.

My husband stayed home, and he played secretary for me.

I have to make a correction: Etta Pierce never went to a one-room schoolhouse. (Oops, sorry Etta), and it was Jim Cavanaugh who lost his dad and then his mom.

The Republican club of Cochecton would like to thank everyone who came out to their fundraiser dinner dance at Tony’s on the Lake. Over 65 were in attendance. District Attorney Jim Farrell won the 50/50 and donated back. He is such a sweetie.

On Saturday, October 12 at 6 p.m., the Knights of Columbus is having an Italian dinner ($10 per person) at the Holy Cross Church on Rte. 97 in Callicoon. This is one of many fundraisers they do so that they can help out the area food pantries and outreach programs during the holiday season. For more information call Grand Knight Teddy Laffin 845/252-3630.

On Sunday, October 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Tusten Town hall, please come and help the Narrowsburg Ecumenical Food Pantry raise some money. The fall dinner dance costs $10 per person, music by DJ Dancing Dan. For more information, call Eileen 845/252-3568.

On Sunday, October 27 The Narrowsburg Inn is having a bus trip to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Bus leaves the inn at 10:30 a.m. and returns around 7 p.m. The cost is $15 per person, and you get $25 in gaming credit and a $10 food voucher. For more information, call Nancy or Mindy 845/252-3998.

Have a great week, and email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net, or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news.
