Are you ready? Cochecton’s fifth annual “Day on the Lake,” co-sponsored by Lake Huntington Fire Department, will be held on Saturday, July 13 this year, rain or shine. We need your support to create this great event with its many activities for the kids and the entire family. We’re asking for your help with donations of funds, products and/or gift certificates to make this event a great success. (Your donations are tax deductible. Make checks payable to Cochecton Day on the Lake Fund and mail to: Jeff Nober, 15 Olsen Rd., Lake Huntington, NY 12752.)
Please note that parts of State Route 52 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If that’s not enough fun for you, there’s a pancake breakfast on Sunday, July 14 at the Firehouse from 7 a.m. to 12 noon.
Sunday afternoon, June 9 at 2 p.m. at the Lake Huntington Firehouse there will be a Celebration of Life held for Jeanette Cochrane. Her two sons, Gary Cochrane and Darryl Jirinec and family, invite relatives, friends and neighbors to share their memories with them.

The schedule of events will be as follows (all events at the firehouse unless otherwise indicated):
9 to 10 a.m.—Vendors set up
10 a.m.—Craft fair begins
10 to 11:30 a.m.—Car “cruise in” and judging in Gasko and Meyer’s lot
11 a.m. to 12 noon—Parade line-up at Sullivan West High School
12 noon—the parade kicks off
3 p.m.—Car show and awards
1:30 to 5:30 p.m.—Craft fair, food, beverages, games, kids playground
2 to 7 p.m.—Live music at the bandstand
4:30 p.m. until sold out—Chicken barbeque, cost $10 each
