What a great time I had this weekend. You know how it is when you just need to get away, and so I went camping with my husband, brother Teddy, his granddaughter Kayla and our friend Trevor at Jelly Stone National Park in Woodburne. They rent cabins there that are like little apartments. There’s nothing like watching a burning fire till the sun goes down, and when you go to sleep listening to the rain hitting a tin roof. On the way home, we stopped off at McDonald's; it was Mother’s day and I was in a blah mood. My mother was a big ice cream lover, so to honor her I got a strawberry sundae. As I was eating it, the tears were just rolling down my cheeks. There were two little boys watching me, trying to figure out why I was crying; it was funny. I have a few friends who also lost there mothers in the last months; my heart goes out to you. Hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day

Don’t forget, our Town of Cochecton Clean Up Day will be on May 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Residents may bring items to the Cochecton old town hall, CR116, Lake Huntington, NY. Check out the town web site for details. (wwwtownofcochectonny.org)

Dottie Schlegel wants me to make sure everyone knows that Catskill Regional Medical Center Grover Hermann division is having their Mary Cadet Memorial Health & Craft Fair on Saturday, May 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a lot going on—free screenings for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, and hearing, plus a New York State police K-9 demonstration and a children’s teddy bear clinic. There will be raffles and a 50/50 as well as a tricky tray drawing at 11 a.m. (pickup winning baskets by 12 noon). This event is sponsored by the Grover H. Hermann Hospital Auxiliary. Stop by and help them raise money for the hospital. Give Dottie a call at 845/932-8487 or go to www.crmcny.org.

It was brought to my attention that The Lake Huntington News is not informational, so please send me some information that I can get out to the public. Any of the clubs send me your upcoming events.
