Valentine’s Day was celebrated on Saturday the 16th for us. Once again we went to the Carriage House to dance to Mickey Barnet. This year we went with another couple, Barbara and James. We really had a great time. James and Tommy sat and talked and Barbara and I were up dancing. As always, Dottie and Herman Esselman were there dancing like professionals. Herman and I danced to the song “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.” Herman can dance, but I can shake; together we made a good couple.

Just a reminder—Sunday, February 24 the Cochecton Volunteer Ambulance Corps is hosting their sixth annual chili fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the new fire/ambulance building located at County Rt. 116, Lake Huntington, NY. There will be different types of chill: moose, venison, turkey, vegetarian and chicken noodle soup made by yours truly. Come out and help the ambulance corps raise money for much needed supplies. If you have any questions give Pete Grosser a call at 845/932-9807.

The Cochecton Youth Commission has one opening. If interested, contact Sue Grund at 845/866 0853. Our monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Old Town Hall, County Rt. 116, Lake Huntington. We try to do monthly events, like movies, bowling, skiing and snow tubing. It’s a great organization and we are helping local kids to have fun, and enjoy life.

The Narrowsburg Ecumenical Food Pantry is looking for monetary donations for Easter dinners. To make a donation, mail a check to P.O. Box 54, Narrowsburg, NY 12764. Any food donations can be dropped off at the side door of St Francis Xavier Church, Thursday between 3:30 and 4:15 p.m. Anything that you can do will be greatly appreciated. We are looking to feed over 60 families.

A belated happy birthday to Gregory (Moon) Kent, Brenda and Kevin Essleman, and anyone else that I do not know about.
