Hello, hope all is well with everyone. My mother is holding her own and doing better. She cracks me up with her schedule—seeing a home care nurse, physical therapist and social worker. She has a person coming in every day, which is good because she gets up and gets dressed. No lying around and being tired all day.

She has not been out except to the doctors. Hopefully when the weather gets warmer, she will get out and about. Thanks for all the well wishes; they keep her going and the prayers always work and are welcomed.

January is the only month to pay taxes without penalty. If you postmark it by January 31, I can accept it; if not, you have to pay the February amount. If you did not make a payment in January you cannot use the payment method, but must pay in full with a 1% penalty, or pay in full in March with a 2% penalty, plus a $2 service charge. My office hours in February and March will be Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. If that does not work for you, give me a call and we can work something out. Your best bet is to just stick it in the mail.

The Ruff Cut was hopping last weekend, with KC and Gloria Garnes playing and singing. I wasn’t there, but according to Facebook the place was packed and everyone had a great time. It’s nice that there is something to do in the middle of the winter—a fun night out.

I’m glad to say my buddy Dolores Manaseri is in Catskill Regional Medical Center waiting to be placed in rehab. They had to put in another pacemaker; they could not take the old one out, so they put the new one on the other side of her chest. Please keep her in your prayers.

The Town of Cochecton lost another great person—former supervisor Ralph Calkin. He was laid to rest on Saturday, January 26, followed by a luncheon hosted by the Lake Huntington Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary.

I really could use stuff to write about.

Have a great week, and e-mail leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have news.
