MILFORD, PA — Duo Scorpio is a New York City-based harp duo that will perform in an outdoor performance at Grey Towers National Historic Site on Saturday, August 16 at 5:30 p.m. The concert is presented by Kindred Spirits Arts Programs.
In 2010, harpists Kathryn Andrews and Kristi Shade began searching for music for their newly-formed ensemble and realized that this particular part of harp repertoire had yet to be fully explored in a contemporary setting. Duo Scorpio wants to help create a new body of work composed for the modern harp that highlights the versatility and uniqueness of the instrument.
Duo Scorpio recorded its debut album, “Scorpion Tales,” in the spring of 2012 with Grammy award-winning engineer and producer Adam Abeshouse. It was released on the American Modern Recordings label on September 4, 2012 and was on the ballot nomination for the 2013 Grammy® awards.
Tickets cost $20 at the door or $15 when purchased in advance at www.kindredspiritsprograms.org, or at Books & Prints at Pear Alley (570/296-4777). Children under 15 are admitted free.
