GRAHAMSVILLE, NY — Author Bill Merchant, president of the D&H Canal Historical Society will give a talk titled “D&H Canal and Sullivan County” on Sunday, November 20 at 2 p.m. at the Time and the Valleys Museum on State Route 55.
The Delaware and Hudson Canal stretched 108 miles from Honesdale, PA to Kingston, carrying coal, lumber, cement and local goods up and down the canal and to the Hudson River bound for New York City. Merchant will talk about the impact of the canal on Sullivan County.
Admission costs $3 for non-members and free for non-members, and includes museum admission and light refreshments. This is the last open weekend for the Time and the Valleys Museum this season. For more information visit timeandthevalleysmuseum.org or call 845/985-7700.
