MONTICELLO, NY — The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library will offer a variety of programs as part of its summer themes, “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read” for kids and “Get in the Game: Read” for teens.
Children’s programs include story times and book clubs for kids in pre-K through fifth grade, weekly crafts and movies and a variety of special programs each week. There will also be special performances on July 12, 19 and 26 at 5 p.m. Tickets will be available one week before each performance, and are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
For teens, there will be a teen-led book discussion, Battle of the Books practice, and a fun program every Thursday, including library CSI, a poetry slam, Chocolate Games and more. On Mondays at 5 p.m., different professionals who work in the sports industry will speak at the library about what their job is, and how they got it.
All summer reading participants will have the opportunity to win great prizes, ranging from a pair of tickets to New York Comic Con, signed New York Giants and Jets posters, book sets and a chance to pie a librarian.
Registration is required for some programs. Visit www.ebcrawfordlibrary.org, call 845/794-4660, ext. 8, “Like” the library on Facebook or follow on Twitter and Instagram (@ebcplibrary).
