SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY — The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop (SCDW) will present its first offering for the 2016 season, “Harvey,” starting on June 10 at the Rivoli Theatre, 5243 Rte. 42. It is sponsored by REA Ford. The full-length, Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy by Mary Chase—immortalized in a 1951 movie starring Jimmy Stewart—is about a polite and friendly man (Mr. Elwood P. Dowd) and his best friend, an invisible, six-foot tall rabbit. The play takes on the universal themes of male/female relations, the class divide, sexual repression and, of course, the perennial conundrum: who can say who is really crazy in this crazy world?
Performances will take place on Friday, June 10 and 17 and Saturday, June 11 and 18 at 8 p.m.; and on Sunday, June 12 and 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $18 for adults and $14 for seniors, students and veterans. The Rivoli, a renovated Art-Deco theatre, is fully air-conditioned and has an adjacent lighted parking lot. The box office opens at 7 p.m. For more information call 845/436-5336 or visit www.scdw.net.
