MILFORD, PA — The Upper Delaware GLBT Center (DGLBT) will present a classic film series at the UDGLBT Center located at 201 W. Harford St. on selected Thursdays from January 15 to March 15 at 7:30 p.m. The series, hosted by John DiLeo, will alternate between two kinds of classic movies: a trio of films from the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s featuring triangles with unmistakable gay subtexts; and a trio of sparkling romantic comedies that will leave you smiling from ear to ear.

All are welcome and the series is presented free of charge. Refreshments will be available for purchase. As the UDGLBT is a non-profit, contributions are welcome.

DiLeo (www.johndileo.com) is the author of five books about classic movies, including “Screen Savers: 40 Remarkable Movies Awaiting Rediscovery” and its sequel “Screen Savers II: My Grab Bag of Classic Movies.” DiLeo will also be the guest speaker on Sunday, January 18, at 2 p.m. as the UDGLBT’s guest speaker at its “Getting to Know Your Neighbors” Speaker Series being held at the same location. January films will be:

January 15: “Test Pilot,” (1938). Starring Clark Gable, Myrna Loy, and Spencer Tracy, this Best Picture Oscar nominee boasts a winning combination of adventure, comedy, and romance, as well as a touching bond between Loy and Tracy in their shared love of Gable.

January 29: “It Started with Eve” (1941). A magical romantic comedy starring the great Charles Laughton as an old millionaire playing matchmaker for son Bob Cummings, deciding that coat-check girl (and aspiring singer) Deanna Durbin is the right girl for his already engaged boy.
