Barker jazzes up CAS

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Art Society will present the renowned jazz drummer Thurman Barker and his band for a concert at the CAS Arts Center on Saturday, September 13 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $10.

Thurman Barker is a well-known jazz drummer, known for his time playing with Mighty Joe Young, Bette Midler, Marvin Gaye and many others. Currently a resident of Jeffersonville, Barker is also a noted composer whose works for percussion, woodwinds, vibraphone and other instruments include “Memories of Things Past.” Coming from Bard College, this American giant of jazz will play works on percussion and marimba with guitar accompaniment.

Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $10. Advance reservations are highly recommended as seating is limited. For reservations, call the CAS Arts Center at 845/436-4227 or email info@catskillartsociety.org.
