MILFORD, PA — “Llearn about Llamas” will be the theme of an open barn day at Foster Hill Farm, home of Snyder Quality Llamas, on Sunday, July 27. A new feature this year is a Fiber Artisans Festival with vendors promoting products made with llama and alpaca fiber. Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. there will be demonstrations of fiber handling, carding, spinning, felting and more, and there will be tours of the various barns and pastures that nearly 60 llamas call home.
Richard Snyder, owner of Snyder Quality Llamas, and his staff will provide an introduction to llama behavior and care—dubbed “Llama 101”—to enlighten the general public about these gentle members of the camelid family and to provide more specific information for the more serious llama enthusiasts or those who are considering a llama purchase.
Admission and parking are free; no pets or picnicking. For additional information, call 570/296-6249 between noon and 5 p.m. or email llamas@snyderqualityllamas.ms.
