Jazz performer to sweeten up Lemon Social

MILFORD, PA — The Pike County Historical Society (PCHS) and Museum will host its first Lemon Social, a party where yellow is the color of the day and lemons are the citrus of the day, on Sunday, June 8. The event begins at 3 p.m. with cocktails and a lemon social hour, followed by Martha Lorin and her pianist Bill Valencenti performing in the Museum’s Foundation Room. Lemon Socials were popular in the early 1900s.

After living in New York City for some years, Lorin now calls Milford home. She has served as director for the annual Milford Music Festival. Lorin is constantly exploring the jazz landscape and has done studio work throughout the U.S. and occasionally appears as the headliner at such New York jazz clubs as Iridium and Birdland.

Tickets cost $25 and include food and drink. Call 570/296-8126 or email pikemuse@ptd.net.
