LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Collabonation Productions returns to The Nutshell Arts Center with its 2014 debut showcasing Elephant Wrecking Ball and LeSpecial on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m.

Elephant Wrecking Ball (EWB) includes Neal ‘Fro’ Evans (formerly of Dopapod, Cashed Fools and Mom And Dad), Scotty Flynn (Pretty Lights, John Brown’s Body) and Dan Africano (Cashed Fools). EWB is a trio that explores deep into the realms of ambient jazz and heavy grooving. Flynn’s effect-laden trombone combined with the rhythm duo provides a foundation for this group’s melodic, abstract and funky take on jazz.

LeSpecial hails from Boston, MA and is a self-described “death-funk, livetronic, glitch-hop trio” that has been playing at Northeast venues and music festivals for the past several years. Jonathan Grusauskas (guitar/keys/trumpet), Luke Bemand (bass guitar) and Rory Dolan (drums) amalgamate the familiar styles of Afro-Latin rhythmic traditions, hip hop, funk and metal into a singular sound that transforms during their live sets.

Admission costs $10. The show is all ages. Doors open at 8 p.m. and LeSpecial starts promptly at 9 p.m. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/collabonationproductions.
