PORT JERVIS, NY — The Port Jervis Library will host a reading by two local authors on Thursday, January 9 at 6:30 p.m. Joe DeMono, of Port Jervis, will read from his novel,“Ciro.” "Ciro" is loosely biographical in depicting the struggles the author had to fit in, his bullying by high school classmates and his confusion about his own sexuality.
Sheldon Scriggs is a retired teacher and reporter from Montgomery. He will read from his book “Tyler, the Strongest Boy on the Block,” the fictional story of a bullied youth whose wish to be strong is granted, but comes with more than he bargained for. This story is intended for children over 12 and contains graphic language.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Port Jervis Free Library, the program will be held in the Community Room of the library. Call 845/856-7313.
