NEWFOUNDLAND, PA — The Greene Dreher Sterling Community Fair, which started on August 26, will run through Setpember 2 this year. It was created 96 yearsago in a school room by the teacher Miss Ella Nevin as a place for her students to exhibit their handiwork The fair was held at an old community hall in Newfoundland. Later it moved to the Newfoundland school, and later yet to the Newfoundland Fairgrounds.

The first few fairs were then open to residents of Greene, Dreher, Lehigh and Sterling townships. Later it was opened to all residents of Pennsylvania.

The fair was formed to promote farm life, farm activities and farm successes, and later lots of music, noise and food were added.
