JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Celebrated American composer John Harbison has been named Composer in Residence for Weekend of Chamber Music’s (WCM) 20th Anniversary Summer Festival, “Transformations.” The festival will run from July 14 through 27 with concerts presented in various venues in Jeffersonville, Bethel, Callicoon and North Branch.
Several of Harbison’s works will be presented including a world premiere of a new violin sonata for his wife, Rose Mary, who will perform it with him. In addition, WCM artists will perform his work, “Songs America Loves to Sing,” his 1981 piano quintet, and the Sarabande from his Suite for Solo Cello.
