BETHEL, NY — “The Landscape: Emblematic and Abstract,” featuring the works of Daisy de Puthod and Madelon Jones, will open on Friday, June 7 at the Stray Cat Gallery, with a reception on Saturday, June 8 from 4 to 7 p.m.
De Puthod prefers to paint her subjects figuratively with a bold and colorful contemporary style. Jones’ work utilizes mediums such as embossment, painting and encaustic capturing nature’s form and color through the abstraction.
This Saturday, the Stray Cat will open an annex, The Store Next Door, to provide a showcase for local artisans who create jewelry, pottery and the like along with fine antiques, unique clothing and vintage collectibles. Hours for both are Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 to 5 p.m. Visit www.straycatgallery.com or call 845/423-8850.
