SWAN LAKE, NY — The 2013 opening of Cunningham Farms, Hurd Park Rd., is Saturday, May 25. The farm will be open weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through November 4. General admission includes all activities except gem mining, among which are hayride, hay bale maze, rope maze, labyrinth, barnyard play area and hay bale pyramid.

The Lost Irishman’s Mine is a gem mining operation where miners purchase a bag of mining rough containing gems. At the water sluice, a trough of running water, the miners sift the rough through the running water. The water washes away the rough leaving the treasure behind. Miners take their “claim” home in the treasure bag provided. The rough package comes with an ID card so the miners can identify their gems. Call 845/798-7839.
