LIBERTY, NY — A scarf painting workshop will be offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Sullivan County on Tuesday, May 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center. Each participant will make his or her own hand-painted silk scarf to take home.
The process of scarf painting begins in a large vat, where desired paint colors are placed gently on top of about half an inch of water. The paint is then swirled with a brush to make a one-of-a-kind design. The silk fabric is rested on top of this paint, transferring the design on to the scarf. Space is limited so pre-registration with payment is required in advance. No refunds will be issued. The cost is $40 per scarf.
