LIBERTY, NY — Approximately 100 Liberty music students have been selected to participate in the 59th Annual Sullivan County Music Educators Association (SCMEA) All-County Music Festival to be held at Liberty High School on March 1 and 2.

Concert one will begin at 3 p.m. featuring the Elementary Chorus, String Orchestra, and Middle School Band. Concert two will feature the Junior High Band, Women’s Chorus, High School Jazz Ensemble, and High School Mixed Chorus and will begin at 5 p.m.

According to Director of Music and this year’s festival chairperson, Gary Siegel, students are selected on the basis of teacher recommendations to the chairpersons of each performing ensemble. The top music students from all eight Sullivan County school districts participate in the festival with a total of approximately 500 students being involved county-wide.

Tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, March 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Liberty High School lobby while they last. Tickets cost $6 and all proceeds go to pay for the festival expenses. For more information call 845/292-5400 x5117.
