PORT JERVIS, NY — A step-by-step “How to Play the Harmonica” program for beginners with Patti Gessner will take place on Saturday, November 17 from 3 to 4:45 p.m. at The Hub at the Port Jervis Library.
Gessner is a singer, harmonicist and co-leader of the Parting Glass Band, featuring some of the best Celtic music in the region. The harmonica, also called the harp, French harp, blues harp and mouth organ, is a free reed wind instrument used primarily in blues, American folk music, jazz, country, and rock-n-roll. During this program, you will download harmonica tablature on Hub computers and learn how to play “Oh Susanna” by the end of the program.
Register immediately if you are interested. The class is limited to 12 and the fee is $6 (includes the cost of a new C Harmonica).
