KAUNEONGA LAKE, NY — The Second Annual Catskill Jewish Film Festival takes place on Thursday, August 23 and Saturday, August 25 at 8 p.m. at the Beekman Pavilion across from the Fat Lady Cafe, behind Java Love.
At 8 p.m., the festival will present “The Syrian Bride,” about a Druze family in Israel that has arranged for their daughter to marry a Syrian TV sitcom actor. On Saturday, August 25, the festival will screen the comedy “The Infidel,” (2010, 105 minutes). In London, Pakistani Muslim businessman Mahmud discovers he is actually Jewish by birth, which turns his world upside down. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased at the pavilion just prior to the showing. Call 917/657-5248.
