GRAHAMSVILLE, NY — Time and the Valleys Museum’s Old Time Fair & BBQ will be held rain or shine on Saturday, July 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Grahamsville Fairgrounds on St. Rt. 55.

Recreating days of yore, in keeping with the museum’s historical themes, the Old Time Fair includes old-fashioned activities such as corn shucking and lady’s skillet throwing contests, children’s games, hand-cranked ice cream making, a pie auction, quilting and spinning demonstrations and local history exhibits. Old-time music will be provided by Chestnut Creek.

From 2 to 5 p.m., there will be a Miller’s Chicken Barbecue, with chicken accompanied by baked beans, macaroni salad, corn on the cob, chips, bottled water and dessert. Dinners are available to eat in or take out, and cost $10 for adults and $7 for children under eight. All funds raised support the Museum’s educational programming.

The Time and the Valleys Museum is a an interactive resource that preserves the past, educates the present and ensures the uniqueness of the Rondout and Neversink watersheds for all generations. The museum has three floors of exhibitions, a local history research center (open Thursdays and Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.) and museum shop. It is open to the public from Thursday through Sunday, 12 noon to 4 p.m. Admission to the museum costs $2 for adults, $1 for children, and is free for children under six.
