HANCOCK, NY — The organizers of the Catskill Valley Scenic Byway Initiative will hold an opening reception for an art exhibit at The Bakery, 167-169 East Front St., on Saturday June 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. Artworks will be on display for the month of July, and can be viewed Mondays 6:30 am to 3:30 pm, Thursday to Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The show is a celebration of outdoor scenes along Route 30 in Delaware County, as portrayed through paintings by the East Branch Delaware River Plein Air Painters, aerial photographs by Corneel Verlaan and works by other guest artists including Mike De Angelis, Charles Kowalski and Kay Parisi-Hampel.

All art will be auctioned at the end of the summer, with proceeds split between the Byway Initiative and the artists. Byway proceeds will be used for mapping the byway and its resources and for necessary consultant services. Call 607/326-7073.
