A Milford history tour

MILFORD, PA — The Grey Towers National Historic Site will hold a walking tour of Milford on Saturday, May 19 starting at 11 a.m., providing information about the many contributions made by the prominent Pinchot family to conservation in America and the Milford community since the 1800s.

The Pinchots are best known for building Grey Towers, the French chateau-esque mansion that now serves as a museum, conference and conservation education center. But there is much more history in other buildings in town. Participants should meet on the lawn of the Milford Community House at the corner of Broad and Harford streets.

Regular tour fees of $6 for adults and $5 for seniors will be collected; exact change is appreciated. Pre-registration is suggested. Email greytowers@fs.fed.us or call 570/296-9630.

Participants who wish to tour Grey Towers following the walking town tour can do so at 1 or 3 p.m. for half price. The walks are held rain or shine; sturdy, comfortable footwear is recommended.

Visit www.fs.fed.us/gt or www.greytow ers.org.
