First Fridays kicks off season May 4

NARROWSBURG, NY - First Fridays Contemporary Author Series continues its 7th season on May 4 at Western Sullivan Public Library in the Narrowsburg Branch. There will be open mic sign-up at 7 p.m., the open mic itself at 7:30 p.m., hosted by Corinna Vaca-Moran, and visiting authors will read starting at 8 p.m.

Featured this month are Lori Anderson Moseman and Jon Sands.

Moseman's newest poetry collection, "All Steel," is just out from Flim Forum Press. She's been a forester tech, a farm reporter, educator, editor and publisher. She founded Stockport Flats press in the wake of Federal Disaster #1649, a flood along the Delaware River. Her work has appeared in a number of literary journals.

Sands has been a full-time teaching & performing artist since 2007. His first full collection of poems, "The New Clean," was released in 2011 from Write Bloody Publishing. Jon has performed and facilitated workshops extensively with university and arts organizations both nationally and internationally, and is Director of Poetry Education at the Positive Health Project (a syringe exchange center located in Midtown Manhattan), an adjunct with the City College of New York, as well as a Youth Mentor with Urban Word-NYC.
