CALLICOON, NY — RiverFolk Concerts will feature Lois Morton at a concert at Jeff Moore’s house, 29 Head Rd., on Saturday, April 14. There will be a potluck dinner at 6 p.m., with the concert starting at 7 p.m. The evening will also feature a raffle to benefit Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) for its Savor the Arts event.

Morton (www.loismorton.com) began writing songs in the late ‘60s, and at the suggestion of Pete Seeger, had several topical songs published in Broadside Magazine. After a long hiatus, she rediscovered the funny side of life and currently focuses on humorous songs of social commentary in Gilbert & Sullivan/Tom Lehrer style. She also presents a repertoire of international songs, with an emphasis on Edith Piaf.

A review of Morton by the Huntington Public Library in Huntington, NY, said “Uniquely interesting singer-songwriter Lois Morton, known for her humorous songs of social commentary on subjects such as clutter, cell phones and diets, keeps you laughing while tugging at your heartstrings.”

The suggested donation is $15. Additional contributions for DVAA are welcome.Reservations are strongly suggested. Call 845/252-6783.
