Thanksgiving in Northern Wayne

EQUINUNK, PA — Thanksgiving Eve has been celebrated in worship for several years by member churches of the Northern Wayne Ministerium. On Wednesday, November 23 at 7 p.m., Equinunk United Methodist Church will host this year’s service. Because the early settlers were grateful for a good harvest back in 1620, they set aside a day for thanksgiving to God for his provision and bounty. The evening will feature prayer and preaching; music by the churches’ choirs; special children’s readings and Thanksgiving skits. There will be a time of fellowship immediately following worship. Participating churches are Equinunk United Methodist Church, Damascus United Methodist Church, Cold Spring Chapel, and Cold Spring Rileyville Presbyterian Church. The public is invited.
