An old-fashioned pig roast benefits Farmhearts

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — An event called “Pig Mountain” will offer up a pig roast celebrating all things local on Saturday, October 15 from 1-6 p.m. at Bridle Hill Farm (190 Hemmer Road). The event will feature four chefs roasting eight hogs provided by Hahn’s Farm, vegetarian sides, New York beer and wine and musical entertainment. Proceeds will benefit Farmhearts, a non-profit helping family farms in the Catskills.

Chefs include Heather Carlucci-Rodriguez (Print Restaurant), co-founder of the event; Matt Weingarten (Inside Park at St. Bart’s);  Matt Hamilton (Belcourt); and Anthony Sasso (Casa Mono).

Chefs will be digging their pits and starting their roasts Friday evening, and a special Pig Mountain Brunch will be served up by Early Bird Cookery on Sunday, October 16 (reserved seatings at 10 a.m and 12 noon) at Hill’s Country Inn, 6 Bethlehem Road, Callicoon Center. The three-course menu includes trout hash, farmer’s market frittata and roasted corn fritters with candied bacon.
