NARROWSBURG, NY — The Delaware Valley Opera (DVO) will celebrate its Silver Anniversary with a gala concert, “Singers of the Valley,” to be held at the company’s longtime home in the Tusten Theater on Saturday, August 27 at 8 p.m. Celebrating 25 years as a major contributor to the artistic life of the area, the DVO has organized a group of DVO artists from the past and current seasons to regale the audience, singing a program of popular and operatic favorites. It will be followed by a champagne reception with fine wines and gourmet offerings at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance’s (DVAA) Krause Recital Hall in downtown Narrowsburg. The event will also serve to assist the company’s financial situation: the artists on Saturday’s program have donated their talents for the occasion, and all of the proceeds will be applied to the company’s budget deficit.

New DVO general manager Carol Castel launched an ambitious program of concerts and performances for the 2011 season, expanding both the number of performances offered during the season and the number of venues. In addition to the Tusten Theater in Narrowsburg, the company took its productions to the theaters at Wallenpaupack HIgh School in Hawley, PA and the Sullivan West Central High School in Lake Huntington.
