Electric Junkyard Gamelan at CAS

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — For the third consecutive season, Terry Dame & Electric Junkyard Gamelan will perform at the Catskill Arts Society (CAS) Arts Center at 48 Main St. Electric Junkyard Gamelan plays the original music of composer Terry Dame on musical instruments of her invention. Hypnotic melodies and syncopated strings riding over funky bass lines and layers of interlocking percussion are all played out on original musical contraptions such as the Ruharp (electric rubber band harp), the Sitello (an electric cello/sitar combo), the Terraphone (copper pipe horn) and Clayrimba (a three octave tuned clay pot “marimba”).

Electric Junkyard Gamelan features musicians Terry Dame, Mary Feaster, Lee Free and Julian Hintz. Visit www.electricjunkyardgamelon.com.

Admission costs $10 for CAS members and $12 for non-members. Seating will be first come, first served with doors opening at 7 p.m. The CAS Arts Center is fully wheel chair accessible.
