NARROWSBURG, NY — The Upper Delaware Writers Collective announces the following winners for its third annual Green Heron poetry contest, open to poets from New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey:
The first place winner is Allison Koffler with her poem, “House and Garden.” Koffler works as a teacher consultant for the NYC Writing Project at Lehman College. Second place was awarded to Mimi Moriarty for her poem “I Hear Geese.” Moriarty is poetry editor of The Spotlight Newspaper and lives in the Hudson River valley. Third place was awarded to Cecele Allen Kraus for her poem, “Silver Earrings.” A psychotherapist for 30 years, Kraus lives in Columbia County, NY. Honorable mention was awarded to Joe Sherlock for his poem “I.” Sherlock has lived along the Delaware since he was two years old and now attends Susquehanna University.
In addition to cash prizes, winners will receive their poem printed on an artful Green Heron poster.
