Bird walks in downtown Manor

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — Lance Verderame, a member of Sullivan County Audubon and Livingston Manor resident, will lead a bird walk for children ages six and up in downtown Livingston Manor on Saturday, July 16 at 10 a.m.

Verderame is the Sullivan County Audubon field trip coordinator for the New York State Young Birders Club, with a passion for birding and sharing his knowledge. Participants will meet at Morgan Outdoors at 46 Main Street, and walk to nearby Renaissance Park and the Pearl Street Community Garden. Interested adults are welcome as well. The focus of the walk is to introduce children to birds and their identification and all are welcome.

On Sunday, July 24, Scott Graber, curator of “The Birds of Sullivan County” photo exhibit closing on July 24, will lead a bird walk in Livingston Manor. The outing will begin at 11 a.m. at Morgan Outdoors and walk to nearby Renaissance Park and the Pearl Street Community Garden, where waterfowl can always be seen along the Little Beaverkill River. The walk will focus on identifying birds by both sight and sound right in town. Binoculars are helpful but not required. Beginning birders are welcome.Visit www.morgan-outdoors.com.
